Hi

Yesterday I skied 30.000 meters of vert in a day.

Arriving at Grandes Montets with my expedition partner Tomas Olsson at 8.30, we teamed up with  videographer Richard Lawrie and boarded the first bin at 8.45.

After a few warm-up laps in the perfectly groomed bottom piste the crowd of tourists arrived and we went on to ski on the upper part of the mountain. As the day went on moguls started to form and icepatches worthy of the world ski cup surfaced, adding a bit of challenge to the task.

As fog came in at lunchtime and the crowd grew hungry / tired the lift-lines decreased and the pistes became faster, allowing us to gain extra momentum.

The aim of the day was dual: To ski 2 times the height of Everest (=17.770 meters) and visualize the demands on Everest climbers to the public.
